This is for you…
Oh my, CLANNAD just keeps getting better and better with each passing episode.
This episode began with Sanae-san’s new concept for Furukawa Bakery – Starfish-shaped breads!! And we all know how “creative” Sanae’s bread are.

Fuko-chan is simply adorable. Her moe aura has completely engulfed me this episode and it all began when she was overwhelmed into dream mode by the myriad of starfish-shaped breads that greeted her. Fuko-chan was really not on my top list of CLANNAD girls but seeing her going into dream mode like that, I just can’t resist liking her. The part with Final Hitode Tsukai Fuko was a bit random but it was hilarious, ending with Tomoya mastering the “Shooting Juice up the Nose” technique as well as a bit of Fu-chan fanservice.

I wonder what Tomoya does with those juice drinks after he sticks it up someone else’s nose.
But even with all the Fu-chan overload, Nagisa still remains my favorite character. Her being embarrassed after blurting out how she and Tomoya are like Fu-chan’s parent skyrocketed her even higher on my favorites list. And why the hell not?
The way she cares about Fu-chan, even sacrificing the time she could have use to get the drama club rolling, really gets to me as if she was really indeed Fu-chan’s mother. Also the part how she was holding off her tears when they confronted Ibuki-sensei reinforces her caring nature more. By the way, that part with Ibuki-sensei where she ran off is really just like what Sanae will do – like mother like daughter eh?

Going back to Fu-chan, since this is a Fuko-centric episode after all, I think another factor that makes her likable is how she is so random – calling people names, blurting out random things when speaking, surprising people by shoving handcrafted wooden starfishes on to them without any warning etc.

The last part nailed it with all the heart-warming scene of all the starfishes being warmly accepted by all those people for the perfect balance between comedy and drama. It’s kind of satisfying to see that Fuko’s efforts are finally being recognized by all those people. That scene with Mitsui, who was cold to Fuko at first, was really touching. I really get emotional when things like this happen.

And the biggest surprise is that Ibuki-sensei is not able to see Fuko’s entity.

This is bad…this is definitely bad. KyoAni has successfully attached me to Fu-chan’s character and when the drama begins, I know it’s going to get teary.
I can’t help but notice that Tomoya has a pained smile which makes me sympathize with his character more.
I also noticed that there has been three instances (If I counted it correctly) of that yellow flower being shown. I still have no idea what that implies but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be an important thing in the resolution of Fuko’s arc.
I’m looking forward to next week. It seems to me that Fuko’s arc ends next week. Also we get to see Kotomi next week too.
